Getting Ready For Your Renovation

Getting Ready For Your Renovation

remodeling contractorSpring is just about here in Florida. The weather is starting to stabilize to a nice warm 80 degree average, and the gulf waters are finally starting to warm up. With the spring comes a sense of renewal, and for some homeowners that means a renovation is coming about. If you are in the latter group, here are a few pointers to help you get ready for your upcoming project.

Renovation Readiness

Partial renovations are great, because they don’t completely disrupt your life, and only take up a portion of your home. If you are undergoing a bathroom renovation, take this pre-renovation time to start going through your bathroom cabinets and other toiletries. Toss what you no longer need or use.

Closet renovations take a bit more time to prepare for, because, if you are like me, your closet is jam packed with clothing and “stuff”. According to a local style expert, sift through your wardrobe and aim to create three piles of clothing:

Keep – Current trends and styles that fit well. Also includes special occasions.
Donate – Items that haven’t been worn in over a year or no longer fit well can be donated to your favorite charity. If you are unsure, move the hanger hook “backwards”. This time, next year, if the hook is still backwards, you’ll know you aren’t wearing it.
Store – Seasonal items that fit well for later use.

By doing a little pre-work at the tail end of winter will ease the stress of completely moving out of your bathroom or bedroom closets when the time comes.

When to Call a Handyman

If you are running out of storage space, your attic may accommodate extra storage by adding a floor…. called “decking”. We can help with that as well as move your items up into the attic for you. Of course, if you are considering a renovation of any size, we’d love the opportunity to quote on your project!

At Handymen For All, we’ll complete your honey do, when your honey didn’t… including getting your threads into the attic!

Our Motto: "We'll complete your honey do -- when your honey didn't!"
